The BFI is looking for a Festival Social Media Assistant to join our 68th London Film Festival from 19 August to 18 October 2024.

The successful candidate will support the Digital Marketing and Festivals marketing teams in the successful delivery of the 2024 BFI London Film Festival (LFF) social media marketing campaign and activities, in close collaboration with colleagues in wider marketing and other departments.

Fixed Term Contract: 19 August to 18 October 2024
Full time: 41 hours

Key responsibilities include:

  • With direction from the Social Media Lead, prepare and schedule engaging LFF social media content for the BFI social media channels, including Instagram, Twitter/X, Facebook, TikTok, Letterboxd, Pinterest and Reddit.
  • Process images and video material for publication online to agreed standards
  • Support live coverage of the BFI London Film Festival, working outside office hours as and when required.
  • Assist with research of the festival’s programme, filmmakers and other talent to support content production and publishing.

We are looking for candidates who have:

  • Professional social media experience in film distribution or exhibition, or in an equivalent role at a cultural or media organisation
  • Proven track record of promoting and supporting diversity and inclusion, including delivering audience development activity
  • An aptitude for diplomatic, friendly and efficient communication skills
  • Ability to act responsibly under pressure with a solution-focused approach
