Doc’n Roll is a female-led film agency that platforms and champions marginal voices in the music industry; we are passionate about independent film and music of all genres. Our mission is to celebrate music subcultures by providing a unique platform to support creative, compelling and unforgettable documentaries that celebrate the performers, labels, scenes and stories.

Festival producers x2:

One position based in Cardiff:

Working on events at Chapter, Cardiff running from 8th to 14th November (7 events) so £700

One position based in Exeter

Working on events at the Phoenix, Exeter from 2nd to 7th Nov (4 events): £400

Time commitment: Approx 4-6 hours per event depending on experience

Detailed Job Description:

  • Working alongside Festival Directors, build sustainability of the festival by developing and sustaining partnerships and sponsors.
  • Ensure all partnerships are maintained and partners are satisfied.
  • Oversee delivery of 2021 festival, ensuring all departments are working to a high standard to provide an excellent experience for audiences, filmmakers, partners, sponsors and volunteers.
  • Oversee volunteer recruitment and training.
  • Manage relationships with cinemas – ensuring that they have all materials needed in good time, and that events are clearly managed.
  • Co-manage tech team to ensure all print transport is delivered on time.
  • Organise Q&A events and find local Q&A hosts.
  • Present the screening and introduce the event to audiences.
  • Main point of contact for guest and host
  • Ensure the event runs smoothly
  • Film tests are run previous to the screening
  • Ensure volunteers are properly managed and have a good experience working with the festival
  • Organise brochure distribution in the city.
  • Ensure Audience feedback forms are properly distributed and filled in among audiences in all venues.
  • Oversee post-festival debrief meeting with festival team
  • Ensure all sponsors and all involved with the festival are properly thanked
  • Collate audience feedback and feedback
  • Collate box office figures and feedback
  • Create a marketing plan engaging local groups to co-promote the screenings

Person Specification – Minimum Requirements:

  • Experience of working on festival/s in a production role essential
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Able to work effectively as part of a team and independently
  • Effective line management experience
  • Excellent communication skills in person, and over telephone and email
