The Korean Cultural Centre is seeking a new Events Co-ordinator.

The Events Co-ordinator is a core member of the festival team. The successful applicant will be creative and insightful, using their experience to successfully manage high-level events.

The post holder will be expected to manage event preparation, co-ordination and other logistical elements for the running of the festival. In addition, the post holder is expected to cooperate with other cultural and educational partners with equal amount of interest and respect.

This is a full-time, fixed term role for approximately 3 months (September – November 2018) covering the period in preparation, build up, operation and debrief of the 2018 London Korean Film Festival.

Responsibilities:

  • To organise and manage festival events. Experience in live event management preferred
  • To undertake a range of event administration accurately and efficiently, including data entry tasks, event plans, audience hand-outs and questionnaires
  • To ensure event and film information is accurately recorded and updated across festival platforms and records
  • To coordinate and work with the festival volunteer team in the lead-up and during events
  • To ensure all event materials, including film clips, stills and slides are prepared in advance of events and that technical elements are taken care of
  • To create a plan to ensure efficient venue setup and breakdown
  • To be able to work well as part of the core film festival team and to develop and maintain relationships with external partners
  • To be well-organised and effective at prioritising work and managing deadlines under pressure
  • To participate in festival meetings and events when required

Person specification:

  • Experience of working in a film festival, similar cultural event and/or volunteer coordination
  • Experience managing a team of staff in an events environment
  • Experience running film screening events
  • Experience in managing six-figure cultural projects to budget working with multiple external agencies and partners
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise and to manage and meet changing deadlines
  • Excellent attention to detail and confidentiality
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral
  • Good IT skills including MS Office, skilled in Excel
  • A proactive and customer focused approach delivered within a best practice framework
  • Demonstrable commitment to the principles of diversity and inclusion and its practical application and integration in the work environment
  • Ability to work flexible hours (there is a requirement to work outside contracted hours, including some evenings and weekends)
