Event Production Manager

Dublin International Film Festival is seeking a Production Manager to oversee all production aspects of the festival, including events such as screenings, Q&As, panels, and galas. Experience in managing teams, solving problems, and delivering high-quality event experiences is essential.
The role involves ensuring health and safety compliance, managing budgets, coordinating with key teams, and liaising with venues and suppliers to ensure smooth operations. The ideal candidate will have strong technical expertise, excellent communication skills, and a keen attention to detail.
Role details:
- Full time
- Fixed term contract, 11 November 2024 – 7 March 2025
- Majority in-person working between DIFF’s offices and festival venues
Role responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the Festival Manager to ensure all events comply with Health & Safety Legislation.
- Manage the production budget in coordination with the Finance
- Officer, ensuring all costs stay within the agreed limits.
- Work closely with the Festival Director and Programme Coordinator during venue programming to ensure proper allocation of resources, including equipment and facilities.
- Coordinate with the Marketing Manager and PR team to successfully deliver the festival’s launch and related gala events, such as the opening and closing ceremonies.
- Oversee the creation and distribution of daily schedules, call sheets, event management plans, and risk assessments.
- Work alongside the Hospitality Manager to align guest itineraries with the production schedule.
- Communicate any access issues or strobe lighting effects to the Box
- Office team to ensure customer safety.
- Collaborate with host venue and cinema management to ensure that the Venue Manager, Box Office team, and volunteers are fully briefed on production logistics and health & safety protocols.
- Notify relevant management of any venue issues that may affect box office operations, marketing, or other festival activities.
- Liaise with venues and suppliers ahead of the festival to secure the necessary technical equipment, ensuring the highest quality for screenings.
- Set up microphones, sound systems, and projected presentations as required.
- Maintain strong relationships with venue partners to deliver highquality events and foster a cohesive working environment between festival staff, volunteers, and full-time venue staff.
Role requirements:
