Duty Manager & Projectionist

Salary: £21,400 per year (pro-rata)

The Institut Français is looking to hire a part-time Duty Manager & Projectionist (mainly evenings and weekend end hours) for the Ciné Lumière.

The art house cinema can host up to 229 people and is a member of the Europa cinema network. Its programme mixes French, European, world cinema and classics as well as hosting film premieres, festivals, Q&As and special events (320 films, 1000 screenings and over 60,000 visitors every year).

Duties

Technical

• To operate digital cinema projector (CHRISTIE CP4220) and DCP server DOREMI SHOWVAULT)
• To ingest DCPs, KDMs, test films and prepare playlists
• To operate 35MM and 16MM projector (KINOTON FP-30D & HORSTON)
• To operate AV equipment for alternative contents (Blu-ray players, scalers, sound mixing desk, microphones, lighting equipment, computers…)
• Additional skills which would be a plus:
• Theatre / live music technical skills (sound & lighting)
• Filming (SONY FS5) & editing (PREMIERE PRO CC)
• French speaking

Duty Manager

• In charge of the front of house staff during evenings and weekends (box office staff and ushers)
• To ensure we are providing high quality customer service and to find solutions when issues occur with customers.
• To anticipate and manage priorities, to solve or report to the right person any issues disturbing the smooth running of the cultural centre.
• Security, health and safety for the staff and the public
• General coordinator responsible in case of building evacuation
• To ensure house rules are respected
