Duty Manager (part time)

Salary: £10.26 per hour

Phoenix Cinema in Leicester are seeking a part-time Duty Manager with expert customer service skills to join their Operations team.

This post manages the day-to-day delivery of all activity within the venue, supporting and guiding the operational teams and managing the premises, whilst on shift.

The role of Duty Manager is vital in ensuring the success of Phoenix.   You are expected to operate with a high degree of autonomy in order to run the shift smoothly.

Phoenix hosts a variety of events and attracts a diverse audience for its popular programme of world cinema, digital arts, courses and community events in Leicester’s Cultural Quarter.  Our film programme shows the best films from around the world alongside the work of local filmmakers, as well as international theatre, ballet and music streamed live by satellite to Phoenix.  Businesses and community organisations enjoy the contemporary environment for conferencing, training, networking and social events.

It’s an exciting time for Phoenix, as it’s on the way to becoming a four-screen cinema in January 2023, complete with a new art gallery, a larger café bar, a green roof terrace and more spaces for making and learning.

Hours: Circa 14 hours (2 shifts) per week.  As we increase our programme post-coronavirus rebuilding, hours are likely to increase to 15-16 per week. The shift patterns are rota’d on a fortnightly rolling pattern. You must be available to work weekends and evening shifts. The current shifts to fill are as follows:

• Week 1: Friday 8am – 4pm, Saturday 10am – 4pm
• Week 2: Friday 3.45pm – 11.30pm, Saturday 3.45pm – 11.30pm

The successful applicant will also be expected to take additional casual hours to aid the team’s annual leave and sickness requirements, and to attend training leading up to the opening of our expansion in January 2023.
