Duty Manager

Salary: £14,400 per annum (pro rata of £18,000)

The Barn is looking for a dedicated and versatile Duty Manager with a passion for film and cinema to join their team.

The Barn Cinema is an independent cinema in a beautifully converted 13^th century barn and part of the Dartington Trust. We are looking for a dedicated and versatile individual with a passion for film and cinema to join our team. The role of Cinema Duty Manager will be responsible for Front of House for screenings, looking after our audiences, supervising volunteers and ensuring the smooth running of the cinema managing the automated projection system. Previous experience of projection work is not necessary for the right candidate who is technically adept, keen to learn and calm under pressure.

This is a 30 hour a week role, and the work would be split over 3 or 4 shifts in the week including both evenings and some weekend work to cover the running of the cinema. Reporting to the Cinema Programme Manager you would be responsible for ensuring projection equipment is looked after, films are downloaded and scheduled on the system, volunteers are briefed, and pre-screening fire checks are done. Other tasks would include supporting the Cinema Programme Manager with social media, and engagement work (film club, podcasts, community programming group), and putting together the projection rota.
