Phoenix Cinema in Leicester is seeking a part-time Duty Manager with expert customer service skills to join their Operations team.

About the role

This post manages the day-to-day delivery of all activity within the venue, supporting and guiding the operational teams and managing the premises whilst on shift.

The role as a Duty Manager is vital in ensuring the success of Phoenix. You are expected to operate with a high degree of autonomy in order to run the shift smoothly.

It’s an exciting time for Phoenix, as we’ve just become a four-screen cinema in January 2023, complete with a new art gallery, a larger café bar, a green roof terrace and more spaces for making and learning. In addition to our expanded film and digital arts programmes, we are delivering many successful events, such as regular film quizzes, the REAL Documentary Film Festival and the Transforming Cities conference.

• Hours: Circa 14 hours (2 shifts) per week. The shifts are rota’d on a fortnightly rolling pattern. You must be available to work weekends and evenings. Day shifts are from 8:00 – 16:00; evening shifts are from 15:45 – 23:30. Evening finish times are sometimes extended to accommodate later programming.
• The successful applicant will also be expected to take additional casual hours to aid the team’s annual leave and sickness requirements, and to attend training.
• Wage: £11.13 per hour.
