JW3 requires a Documentary Producer for the 90-minute documentary which will have a theatrical release, comprising archive footage, around 15% of which is silent. The footage will be cut to a commissioned music score.

The film, Jewish Britain on Film contains some extraordinary records of 20th century Jewish life, unearthed by film archives across the nation. These include a vibrant wedding in London’s East End from 1925, the defeat of the British Union of Fascists at Cable Street, Ben-Gurion’s visit to a Leeds youth centre in 1967 and plenty of joyous archive footage of bar mitzvahs, Maccabi clubs and holiday outings from across the UK.

In addition to producing the documentary, the role includes managing a distribution plan (for theatrical exhibition and potentially packaged content and/or SVoD). The Producer will also complete the monitoring and evaluation and reporting of the project for the BFI and other funders. Within the production budget, the Producers’ Fee is £8,000.

The Producer must have production credits in documentary for broadcast or theatrical distribution and be available for pre-production meetings before August 20th. Delivery is November 2018.
