Salary: £24,000 - £28,000 depending on experience

The Cinema in the Arches is seeking a Deputy General Manager to join their team.

About the venue

Situated in the Arches in Circus West adjacent to the imperious Battersea Power Station, The Cinema in the Arches is a boutique, public cinema that boasts an impressive sound system in each screen, a variety of delectable snacks and drinks and an overall kind and caring environment, to match the strip of restaurants, pubs and more that neighbour us.

On top of this, in 2022 we will also be opening of our new cinema and members bar inside the iconic Battersea Power Station itself, the role will mean that you will be able to work in different environments and get the opportunity to experience the inevitable buzz and collaborative environment that the power station will offer.

The Deputy General Manager will report directly to the General manager, while working alongside a team of managers and staff.

Responsibilities
  • Serving customers (customer satisfaction is the main priority for us!)
  • Opening and closing the cinema
  • Delegating staff and running shifts
  • Stocktaking, ordering and stock analysis
  • Fire safety and fire alarm checks
  • Health and Safety management
  • Administration
  • Projection management
  • Liaising with contractors and software providers
  • Event management
  • Film scheduling and playlisting using Rosetta Bridge
  • Payroll
  • Updating newsletter
  • Film Club Members management
  • Overseeing operations when the General Manager is absent
Preferable skills/experience
  • 3 – 5 years of hands-on Customer service experience
  • Can work late and on weekends regularly
  • Punctuality
  • Time and event management
  • Minimum of 2 years Management experience
  • Any experience working within a cinema previously is not essential but will contribute to your application.
  • Any experience with Veezi/Vista, or any other ticket booking system is not essential but will contribute to your application
  • Any experience using Rosetta Bridge or Dolby interfaces is not essential but will contribute to your application
  • Alcohol licence holder, first aider, health and safety training is not essential but will contribute to your application. Once probation period has ended these will either be refreshed or provided to the right applicant.
