Into Film is an education charity that puts film at the heart of children and young people’s educational, cultural and personal development. Over half of UK schools engage with our programme of film clubs, special cinema screenings, and resources and training to support classroom teaching. Alongside rich online content for young audiences, this provides 5-19 year olds with inspiring opportunities to learn about and with film, and develop a passion for cinema.

Role summary

The main function of the Curation Manager role is to guide all aspects of Into Film’s film content curation. Responsible for defining and enacting Into Film’s content curation policy, the Curation Manager will guide and manage the curation of film content across a variety of platforms for a wide audience that includes children and young people aged 5-19, teachers, as well as Into Film’s stakeholders, partners and potential funders.

Person specification

The successful candidate should have:

  • Significant experience at management level of film curation focused on children and young people’s learning and cultural engagement
  • Experience and direct understanding of the needs of educators, children and young people, and the possibilities for film education content curation and exhibition for them
  • Significant team and line management experience including strategic planning and delivery within an organisation, collaborating with others to find solutions for challenges and ensure plans can be achieved and KPIs met.
  • Excellent knowledge of and contacts with content providers including but not limited to distributors, festivals and cultural organisations, with a view to acquiring diverse content both Into Film’s catalogue and across the programme.
