Cultural Partnerships Manager

Salary: £42,480 - £49,965 per annum

The BFI is looking for a Cultural Partnerships Manager to join a small team that works with a wide range of colleagues across the BFI to deliver impactful cultural projects internationally and in the UK. Where possible our projects are bilateral, ensuring significant involvement from and impact for both partners.

The key focus of the role will be increasing international and UK-wide engagement with BFI collections and projects – and, where possible, exploring new opportunities for ongoing partnerships.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Work with and support the head of cultural partnerships to deliver the BFI’s international and UK-wide cultural partnerships strategy.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with agreed list of festival/cinematheque programmers, keeping them informed of BFI activity and ensuring that BFI projects/events are discussed/submitted for consideration.
  • Identify and generate opportunities for partnerships in priority cultural exchange areas that best deliver the BFI’s strategic priorities.
  • Compile and edit regular newsletters for international and UK partners/exhibitors in association with the BFI marketing department.

We are looking for candidates who have:

  • Good, demonstrable knowledge of British film history – from silent cinema to the present day.
  • Good, demonstrable knowledge of the UK and international film exhibition sectors and film audiences.
  • Demonstrable success in developing and maintaining working partnerships with other cultural organisations.
  • Excellent written English with demonstrable experience of writing and editing newsletters/blogs/catalogues/articles etc.
  • A high level of administrative and organisational skills, with proven ability to work to meet deadlines and to prioritise and coordinate multiple activities.
