The BFI is seeking a Collection Projects Librarian to join the Reuben Library at the BFI Southbank.

Key Responsibilities
  • Responsible for the care of the library collection including the conservation and housing of materials, as well as regularly assessing their condition.
  • Lead on stock management and discrete collection projects, interpreting and deepening understanding of what we hold, liaising with internal and external researchers.

You will be a key part of the team that deliver the library service 5 days a week, working with the library team on cataloguing projects, ensuring library data standards are adhered to and developing activities, publications and events that will boost interest and access to the library collection.

Experience & Skills
  • Experience of working with stock management and cataloguing within a specialist library or equivalent environment.
  • Understand how to manage projects from inception to delivery.
  • The ability to manage and develop staff with one Assistant Librarian reporting to you.
  • Understand how to develop audience engagement with a library collection.
  • You will be creative, enjoy collaborative working and being part of a team.

The role is predominantly based at BFI Southbank, however, much of the collection requiring attention is housed at the Conservation Centre in Berkhamsted so some travel between sites will be necessary.
