Falkirk Council (FC) seeks an experienced freelance marketing professional, passionate about connecting cinemas with audiences, to increase social media reach and engagement for the Hippodrome Cinema, Bo’ness.

Working with the Marketing team, and Arts team on the creation and initial delivery of a marketing strategy which at its core will deliver key strategies of market penetration and market growth for the Hippodrome.

The Hippodrome closed due the COVID-19 lockdown in March 2020 and has re-opened/ closed periodically throughout the past two years in line with Scottish Government and local COVID-19 guidelines.

In 2022, the Hippodrome was awarded funding through the Screen Scotland Recovery Fund for Independent Cinemas to help stabilise income and provide support towards the re-opening and re-establishment of the venue, this post is funded by this fund.

This is an exciting opportunity to help the Hippodrome recover and engage a broad and diverse audience as we navigate reopening after the COVID-19 shutdown.

Key details

  • Hours: Four days per week
  • Contract type: Six months
  • Location: Work from home

The contract will commence on 29 August 2022 and run to 19 February 2023.

The fee offered for this engagement is £19,200 based on four days per week for six months.
