The BFI is looking for a Certification Analyst to join their Certification Team.

The Certification Analyst will assess applications under the High-end Television and Animation Cultural Tests, ensuring compliance under the relevant UK legislation.  And to provide pro-active advice and guidance to the Television and Animation community on certification matters.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Assess and analyse applications under the HETV, Animation TV and Children’s TV Cultural Tests and the 6 bi-lateral Co-production agreements which allow television, according to the BFI’s process and to provide informed and balanced recommendations to the DCMS.
  • Give specialist advice on the rules of the HETV, Animation TV and Children’s TV Cultural Tests and 6 Bi-lateral co-production treaties which allow television, in order to support and guide the High-end Television and Animation community on certification matters.
  • Assess European Certificates of British Nationality.
  • Assist in the maintenance of publicly available guidance for the HETV, Animation TV and Children’s TV Cultural Tests and 6 Bi-lateral Co-production treaties which allow television and European Certificate application forms, process and approval mechanisms.

We are looking for candidates who have:

  • An awareness of the HETV, Animation TV and Children’s TV certification and tax relief processes and the value to these industries and wider economy
  • An awareness of the of the Cultural Tests for HETV, Animation TV and Children’s TV the UK’s 6 Bi-lateral co-production treaties which allow television and European Certificates of British Nationality
  • Good understanding of the HETV, Animation TV and Children’s TV production process from development through to broadcast.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to deal effectively with people at all levels.
