Catering Manager

Phoenix

Leicester

Salary: £30,000 per annum

Phoenix is seeking an experienced Catering Manager to lead Phoenix’s food and drink offer through the next exciting stage of their business.

We are re-introducing this role in order to grow the business following our promising but modest re-opening after the Covd-19 lockdowns.

About Phoenix

Phoenix hosts a variety of events and attracts a diverse audience for its popular programme of world cinema, digital arts, courses and community events in Leicester’s Cultural Quarter.  Our film programme shows the best films from around the world alongside the work of local film makers, as well as international theatre, ballet and music streamed live by satellite to Phoenix.  Businesses and community organisations enjoy the contemporary environment for conferencing, training, networking and social events.

Engagement with our programme continues to grow, with over 200,000 people connecting in 2019 and many more using the cafe bar which has become a hub for many who live and work in the city.  96% of our customers say they would recommend us.

About the role

This is an exciting opportunity for someone to take the development lead for our food and drink offer, building on the current offer and systems in place, ensuring they are ready for increased audience demand in our café bar, conferencing and hires business.

We are currently working on plans to expand the venue to become a four screen cinema, complete with a new art gallery, a larger café bar, a roof terrace bar and events space and additional spaces for making and learning.  If the expansion moves ahead, the Catering Manager would develop a temporary food and drink provision for the period of the building works and, working with the rest of the management team, lead and engage the staff teams, planning, preparing and launching the expanded venue.

Average hours per week: 37.5 hours. As a full-time manager, you will be expected to work the hours to fulfill the role.

Working pattern: Varied, as required to fulfill the role.
