Salary: Daily rate: £85 / £100 + travel expenses during the Festival

UK Jewish Film is seeking a new Box Office Manager.

This role is project-based and offered on a freelance basis only. The hours of work are Monday – Friday, 10am – 6pm with some Sundays as agreed; starting ideally 10th Sept until 21st November 2019.

Work must be carried out in with due regard for UK Jewish Film’s equal opportunities and safeguarding policies. Key job purpose

  • Managing the ticket sales process including responsibility for telephone/online sales for the UK Jewish Film Festival 2019
  • Overseeing and supporting the work of interns in regard to box office enquiries and sales as requested by the Operations Manager
  • Training of interns/volunteers
  • Managing the box office function and interns on site throughout the Festival as required by the Head of Operations
  • Managing, selling, onloading and administration of new Members
  • Managing Festival and Press Accreditations process and ticketing

Principle responsibilities

1) Box office

  • Overall day-to-day management of the effective functioning of the Festival box office
  • Ensuring that all box office calls are dealt with promptly and efficiently. Box office personnel are often the first point of contact with the Festival and as such are important representatives of the Festival
  • Managing interns who are dealing with box office and calls, training and providing constructive feedback
  • Up-selling but without exerting any pressure on the customer
  • Ensuring that all customer information is recorded accurately bearing in mind the need for accurate names, postal address and email information for our database purposes
  • Checking during all transactions that the software is making correct calculations in regard to ticket prices, totals and discounts and alert the Head of Operations to any potential problems
  • Dealing directly with the software engineers as required by Head of Operations
  • Representing the Festival in a friendly, efficient and courteous manner
  • Coordinating box office personnel on site during the festival
  • Preparing regular sales reports for marketing meetings
  • Adding new events for sale to the website and updating according to sales status

2) Accreditation

  • Managing all press and other accreditations
  • Sending out accreditation confirmations to the pre-approved ‘VIP’ press list of key Jewish press, along with select National and London focused print, broadcast and online media
  • Dealing with requests for individual screenings from accredited press

3) Membership

  • Encouraging sales and renewals of Membership wherever possible through good knowledge of the incentives both philanthropic and financial
  • Processing new memberships urgently or oversee interns in processing new memberships so that new members can immediately receive the benefits of their Membership
  • Ensuring that all Membership communications are in line with the house style agreed with your line manager
  • Preparing newsletters specifically for Members as required by the line manager

4) Other duties

  • Ensuring that new email data is added to the newsletter system during the course of the Festival
  • Other duties as instructed by the line manager
  • Liaising with Marketing Manager as required regarding special discounts, promotions and competitions
