Board Members

Hebden Bridge Film Festival

Within travelling distance to Hebden Bridge, Remote meetings possible

Salary: Voluntary

Hebden Bridge Film Festival is looking for new board members.

Hebden Bridge Film Festival is a three day event which brings filmmakers and audiences together to experience a diverse range of high quality films and related events and prides itself on being friendly and inclusive. We prioritise giving voice to underrepresented groups, and our themes to date have been the other and hope and resistance.

We are excited to be recruiting new Board members for our fourth festival, taking place on 15-17th March 2024. The Hebden Bridge Film Festival relies on volunteer effort, and the Board delivers or supports a large part of the core work of putting the festival on. Together with the festival director, it also sets the strategic direction for the festival.

We welcome applications from anyone who believes they could make a strong contribution.

We are particularly seeking a Volunteer Coordinator, someone to take a major responsibility for Communications, and a Secretary. The organisation of the Film Festival relies extensively on shared digital communications and online organisation, so all board members need to be comfortable with technology.

See HBFF Board Member Responsibilities for a description of these and the roles of other board members.

Commitment

Board meetings: stop for a summer break and are approximately monthly after that, becoming more frequent in the lead up to the festival.

Board roles: the time commitment varies by role and will be much more intense during the three months leading up to the festival. The Volunteer coordinator starts around December with work increasing up until the festival. For Communications, there is limited comms from when the Festival is launched in October/ November, reaching a peak as the Festival happens.

Please note: whilst remote meetings are possible for this role, applicants will need to be within reasonable travelling distance to Hebden Bridge.
