Altitude Film Entertainment are looking for a creative, commercially astute and highly proactive Acquisitions Assistant, to take on a key role supporting both the international sales and UK distribution teams, reporting to the Head of Acquisitions.

Responsibilities
  • Read scripts/watch films and write eloquent, thorough, coverage assessing the project’s creative and commercial potential.
  • Make reasoned, decisive judgements on all incoming material.
  • Work closely with the Head of Acquisitions to keep track of all UK producers and productions and set meetings where necessary.
  • Manage talent and project tracking lists, keeping them up to date.
  • Identify new producers and talent relationships.
  • Festival prep:organize and manage a tracking list of film titles ahead of each prominent film market i.e Sundance, Berlin, Cannes. Venice, Toronto & AFM.
  • Festival prep: set meetings and manage the schedule during each film market.
  • Research specific projects (e.g new media, audience trends etc) and write thorough reports.
  • Look out for Event Cinema opportunities and be proactive in finding new partnerships
  • Attend screenings & events, write reports and meet new contacts.
  • Read the industry trades and research online to find information about upcoming films and identify other potential opportunities.
Skills needed
  • Able to read scripts or articles and provide feedback in a fast, efficient manner.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • An active knowledge of the film industry, the changing media landscape and opportunities within independent distribution.
  • Effective time management.
  • The ability to multitask and work in a busy and dynamic environment.
  • Excellent Microsoft Office skills inc. Excel.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • An interest in developing negotiation skills.
  • A strong interest in the business of creative industries.

The adaptation of Len Deighton’s renowned novel is Altitude Television’s debut production made in association with ITV Studios.

Launched in 2020, Altitude Factual creates long-running television series and feature-length programming focusing on the natural and human worlds.
