Edinburgh International Film Festival is seeking a Youth Digital Content Coordinator to help build its young audience for the festival.
We are currently recruiting for EIFF Youth Digital Content Coordinator. The role will be based out of Filmhouse Cinema in Edinburgh. Due to the current COVID-19 constraints the role will require working remotely from home and possibly some in person sessions in August.
Based in the Marketing team and working closely with our Community Engagement & Learning team, the post-holder will help us build our young audience for Edinburgh International Film Festival. We have a successful youth programme called EIFF Youth which includes a series of screenings, workshops and careers advice sessions designed to engage young people aged 15-25 with the world of film. For 2021 many of these events will be held online – so we are looking for a digital content coordinator to design and produce engaging content across a wide variety of digital communication channels, including the website, social media and publishing platforms, and to effectively promote EIFF Youth to a bigger, broader audience of young people.
Candidates must have previous experience in digital content provision, copywriting, editing, interviewing, etc. The ability to plan for and realise content-generation opportunities and at all times meet deadlines, is essential. This role requires a proactive (as well as reactive) film fan with a dynamic character keen to connect younger audiences with the EIFF through engaging web and social media content in order to maximise online interest and dialogue. A strong understanding of film and web communications is a must. Experience of designing and delivering interactive online events is essential too.
Freelance contract, fixed term, 19 July – 29 August 2021.
The post-holder will be expected to work at least 2 days per week initially, then full-time for the Festival dates.
