This is an ideal first job for a candidate looking to join the business side of the film industry. Must be confident working with numbers, processes and people.
Currently, comScore’s weekly box-office collection accounts for more than 95% of the worldwide box-office. They’re in 40 countries across 5 continents. Their London office manages data from UK & Ireland, Italy, Africa and the Middle East.
Main duties include:
- Updating film release dates on calendar;
- Contacting cinemas to collect missing box-office figures;
- Monitoring electronic upload of data from cinemas, and trouble-shooting issues;
- Responsibility for management of Italy database, with annual visits to Rome;
- Juggling competing demands from different countries and clients;
- Acting as first point of contact for clients on phone.
The ideal candidate will have a logical brain, enjoy following processes and be good at problem-solving. Attention to detail is crucial. A general interest in cinema-going and awareness of the latest releases is required. Full training on the in-house database will be given.
Attitude is the most important attribute comScore are seeking. They need you to be curious, positive, proactive and good with people.
They are a small team of 7 people. Duties will be flexible depending on your skills. They are a sociable team and enjoy seeing films, monthly team drinks and quarterly team dinners, plus attending client events such as drinks, lunches and even the occasional film premiere.
Hours are Monday-Friday 9am to 5.30pm. They offer the usual benefits including pension & healthcare schemes, 20 days’ holiday (increasing to 25 days over 5 years) plus 8 public holidays.
