AV Technician

Salary: £200 per screening

Balik Arts is seeking a multi-skilled AV technician to cover a variety of individual cinema screenings in London over a 6 month period. This position will require the applicant to cover dates and work alongside the permanent AV technician. Ideally the applicant will have an interest in community cinema and be keen to become involved with the charity aspect of the project. This is a charity run project with limited budget and funding, the position is well paid, but a few extra hours here and there will also be expected, the charity is mostly run on voluntary staff.

Ideal requirements for the role:

• 2 years experience in AV, events or similar projection work.
• A good working knowledge of projectors, video playback, file formats and conversion. As well as setting up screens and audio systems. This is for a small cinema set-up, but an ability to think on your feet and adapt is a must.
• Experience of working with community cinema and pop-up cinema a huge bonus as there will be a certain amount of community films shown alongside main features.
• A positive attitude is also a must. As stated, this is a charity project which hopes to inspire and train local people in order to continue the screenings after the project finishes.
• A driving licence is an advantage as help may be needed to transport the equipment locally.
