Head of Development, Partnerships and Patrons

Film and Video Umbrella

London

Salary: £30,000 - £40,000 pro rata

Film and Video Umbrella specialises in artists’ moving image. It curates, commissions, produces, presents and tours moving-image work throughout the UK and internationally in partnership with cultural and other organisations. It has created an exciting new role – Head of Development, Partnerships and Patrons – and is looking for an experienced and successful fundraiser with an excellent track record of obtaining funds from charitable trusts and foundations, high net-worth individuals, and private and public sector bodies, to manage a varied portfolio of supporters and develop new funding prospects in order to give FVU greater creative programming freedoms and possibilities.

It is an exciting moment to join FVU. It became a Charitable Incorporated Organisation in 2016 (having previously been constituted as a not for profit limited company). A range of new funding options have been opened up by this change in status, and many of these options remain to be explored. It is also secure in the knowledge that its core funding from Arts Council England is confirmed until 2022. The new Head of Development, Partnerships and Patrons will therefore be in a position of strength to take FVU forward.

Based in London and with some travel across the UK, you will have significant experience of building relationships with (and securing five and six figure sums from) trusts and foundations, public sector grant giving bodies, private individuals and businesses, ideally gained within an arts and cultural context. You will be confident and entrepreneurial, able to instill a sense of credibility, and create and pitch on behalf of FVU, with an understanding of successful partnerships.

This is a fantastic opportunity to develop and lead relationships with existing and new charitable, public sector, private and corporate funders within a long established and highly regarded arts organisation at the leading edge of its field.
