The mouths of the mines of Cerro Rica, Bolivia can be found in ‘the mountains that eat men’, as described by the local tribes. There, life expectancy for miners is between 35 and 40, and so they start them young: around 800 children work in this hell. This documentary follows two of them: 14-year-old Basilio and his younger brother, the breadwinners of their family. But how can they balance the need to survive with their struggle to gain education?
