The directorial debut of Austin Powers and Wayne’s World actor and comedian Mike Myers is a tribute to Shep Gordon, the Hollywood insider and entertainment industry legend, who fell into an astonishing career straight out of college after befriending Janis Joplin, Jim Morrison and Jimi Hendrix.

He managed the careers of musical legends such as Pink Floyd, Alice Cooper and Blondie, and later went on to manage chefs such as Emeril Lagasse, ushering in the era of celebrity chefs on TV.

Extensive archive footage and an impressive array of interviewees including Alice Cooper, Michael Douglas, Sylvester Stallone, Willie Nelson and more reveals a wealth of behind-the-scenes gossip and insights into a charismatic and contradictory character.

Myers met Gordon while negotiating music right for Wayne’s World and their longstanding friendship gives an easy intimacy to their conversations, which touch not just on the hedonism and debauchery of a quintessential Hollywood life but also on loneliness, family, spirituality and philanthropy.
