Indy Cinema Group is seeking a part-time admin assistant to help their busy team of film programmers, technicians and other staff in supporting independent cinemas around the UK and abroad.
The role will include a range of data processing, data entry and other admin tasks associated with booking and scheduling films for cinemas; supporting the cinemas with their wider services; and supporting core business operations including some finance admin support.
The successful candidate will be enthusiastic, hard-working, careful, patient, conscientious, and detail-oriented. Experience with Microsoft Excel is important, but training will be offered in other more specialist admin systems, which the assistant will need to use (e.g. point of sale systems). Prior experience in film exhibition is not essential but would definitely help. An interest in movies is something you would share with the rest of the team.
The admin assistant will learn from Indy Cinema Group’s experienced team about film programming & bookings workflows, and will have the opportunity to gain hands on experience working with film distributors and cinemas in this area. While this is primarily an admin role, it may nonetheless be a good entry-level opportunity for someone considering a career in film programming, as the assistant will work very closely with the film bookings team to support their workflow from film assessment through distributor negotiations to cinema support.
The role is part-time for 2.5 days a week, based in the Leith area of Edinburgh. The rate of pay is national living wage.
