HippFest is seeking Young Programmers aged 16 to 25

Are you aged 16 to 25 and interested in film, music, and delivering events?

HippFest is looking for a new group of Young Programmers to join the team and help shape HippFest 2027.

HippFest is Scotland’s first and only festival of silent film with live music, centred in and inspired by Scotland’s oldest cinema, featuring exceptional screenings, commissions, workshops and community events.

As a Young Programmer, you’ll:

• Curate silent film screenings with live music as part of our Autumn ‘Taste of Silents’ season
• Create wraparound events such as Q&As, workshops and socials
• Contribute to blogs, podcasts, and other festival content
• Gain mentoring, training, and insights into film festival programming
• Collaborate with peers and build valuable industry connections
• Be offered a professional development bursary and a complimentary pass to HippFest 2027

You’ll meet monthly (a mix of online and in-person sessions at The Hippodrome, Bo’ness – with travel reimbursed).

Person specifications:

• Must be aged 16 – 25
• Have a passion for film
• No previous experience is necessary
