10th Hippodrome Silent Film Festival

Falkirk

Salary: Expenses only

The Hippodrome Silent Film Festival is looking for an enthusiastic, helpful team to assist in running the Festival and welcoming audiences to Bo’ness.

Now in it’s 10th year, the Hippodrome Silent Film Festival (HippFest) showcases exciting international silent film with live music to create a unique, world-class event which attracts audiences from across Scotland and further afield. The Festival team, of which volunteers are an important part, help to create the Festival’s warm and friendly atmosphere.

This is a chance for you to experience a variety of roles whilst helping at a busy, exciting Festival. You will meet and assist the public, work as part of a friendly team and learn new skills. Help out with the massive Custard Pie Fight; welcome audiences to the beautiful Hippodrome; and assist at workshops and talks.

All volunteers receive a Festival t-shirt, a travel allowance, snacks and drinks and a Festival Pass allowing you to see most events.

The festival has a packed programme of silent films with live musical accompaniment in the Hippodrome cinema and various other venues across Bo’ness. This is one of Scotland’s most prestigious and popular film festivals, happening in Scotland’s oldest purpose-built cinema – the Hippodrome in Bo’ness.

Festival Volunteers carry out a number of essential roles:

  • Welcoming and assisting seating audience members.
  • Gathering feedback by completing evaluation forms with Festival-goers.
  • Assisting with set up and rehearsals for each event.
