Plymouth Arts Cinema (PAC)

Plymouth

Salary: Unpaid

The Board of Plymouth Arts Centre is looking to recruit a number of new board members to work with the Chair and the rest of the board in supporting the management team to deliver the next phase of the organisation’s long-term plan.

PAC is aiming to ensure that the board is reflective of the values and scope of our objectives, businesses and operations, the diversity of our audiences and the stakeholders we work with. As a Trustee you will be committed to delivering a fresh and innovative approach to independent cinema in our city.

In particular, the board is seeking individuals with skills, experience, understanding and contacts across the screen sector at local and national levels as well as in accountancy, and the media.

Applicants should be able to address one or more of the key skills, attributes and experience. Above all, each member of the board must be committed to the values and aims and objectives of the organisation and be able to ensure that the board is fit for purpose in executing its legal, financial and strategic responsibilities.

Plymouth Arts Centre has been a major asset in Plymouth culture for more than 70 years, and we continue to play a lead in transforming our city into a vibrant and culturally exciting destination.

Currently our focus is to maintain independent film in our city—our mission is to provide engaging and stimulating foreign and arthouse films and to provide support for regional film makers at every stage of their career.

Earlier this year we moved into a new 118-seat cinema at Plymouth College of Art in the centre of the Plymouth Cultural Quarter that will include the Box, a multi-million-pound development of Plymouth’s Museum and Galleries.
