Fulham Road Picturehouse is looking for a Sous Chef to assist in the day to day management of the kitchen and to cook and present food to excellent standards.

Fulham Picturehouse, a 6 screen cinema in the original Forum Theatre building on Fulham Road opened as a Picturehouse cinema in 2019. A full renovation took place to bring back the “period features of the 1930’s” from when this beautiful building was first built.

In addition to a diverse programme of films, ranging from quality blockbusters to independent, classic, foreign-language and art-house, Fulham Road Picturehouse includes a core programming strand dedicated to championing documentaries. The cinema also shows live HD broadcasts of productions from world-class arts venues, such as the New York Metropolitan Opera and the Bolshoi Ballet, theatre productions such as the Royal Shakespeare Company Live from Stratford-upon-Avon and National Theatre Live, art exhibitions and filmmaker Q&As.
Fulham Road Picturehouse is an established venue, the very highest standards of customer service and presentation will need to be maintained at all times.
Fulham Road Picturehouse is part of Picturehouse Cinemas who operate 26 cinemas across the UK and are a stand-alone division of Cineworld PLC.
Job Description
Hours: Full Time
Location: Hammersmith and Fulham
Main duties
- Preparing and cooking food to the consistently high standards of preparation and presentation set by the Head Chef.
- Deputising for the Head Chef in the Head Chef’s absence and leading the team on shifts when the Catering Manager is not present.
- Liaising with bar staff and the duty manager to communicate delivery times, items out of stock and other information necessary to present a professional service to customers.
- Assisting the Head Chef with devising and introducing menus and daily specials suitable for the operation.
- Assisting the Head Chef with stock management (including ordering, stock rotating and stock taking) so that adequate levels of stock are held and there is no wastage.
- Following all Food Hygiene, Kitchen Cleaning and other health and safety responsibilities at all times.
- Assisting the Head Chef with training and managing the kitchen team.
- Undertaking such administration as requested for the effective running of the kitchen.
- Undertaking any other duties which may be reasonably requested of you by the Company for the effective functioning of the kitchen or cinema and to maximise its business.
