Salary: £38,526 - £45,315 per annum (up to 10% market supplement for an exceptional candidate)

The BFI are seeking a Senior Philanthropy Manager to join the Philanthropy team within the Fundraising & Enterprise department at the BFI.

Fixed Term Contract: Maternity Cover for 9-12 months

The BFI’s Fundraising and Enterprise is responsible for raising charitable income from a number of sources, predominantly through Business Partnerships, Trusts & Foundations, Public Sector, Events, Enterprise and Individuals.

The BFI’s Philanthropy team is a team of seven, responsible for all sources of individual giving, including Major Donors, Giving Schemes (notably the BFI Film Forever Club and Patrons), Legacies, Campaigns & Appeals, Audience Giving and Special Projects, from donors in the UK and the US.

The Senior Philanthropy Manager’s key responsibilities include:

  • Lead the major donor strategy for the philanthropy team, delivering a pipeline of approaches to achieve income targets and excavate opportunities for new and increased philanthropy, with a focus at six figures and above
  • Oversee management and progressive giving opportunities within the BFI Philanthropy donor pool
  • Identify, construct and collaboratively deliver new opportunities for fundraising, fostering innovation and creative thinking, working with colleagues across the F&E team, and the BFI as a whole
  • Ensure the identification, cultivation and management of a consistently strong portfolio of major donor prospects and donors

We are looking for candidates who have:

  • Demonstrable experience of  working at a senior level in a fundraising team, with evidence of raising charitable gifts of 6 figures and above
  • A comprehensive understanding of the pillars of compelling fundraising strategies to generate charitable income
  • Demonstrable project management skills, leading networks of teams to achieve objectives together, on time and effectively
  • Proven people management skills including experience of successful performance management, coaching and developing staff
  • Experience of working with a CRM database
