The BFI are seeking an experienced Senior Evaluation Manager.
We are seeking an experienced Senior Evaluation Manager to coordinate the external evaluations of all of the BFI’s publically funded programmes and advise and work with BFI stakeholders and partners in the commissioning of high-quality research and evaluation to inform strategy and policy.
This role will also play an important part in developing, delivering and embedding a framework across the BFI that evaluates the impact and outcomes of the BFI’s Screen Culture 2033 activities.
Key responsibilities include:
- To design and commission evaluation projects where required and to manage these projects on behalf of internal stakeholders.
- To be an advocate and champion for evaluation, promoting its importance internally in the BFI and to its external partners. Develop accessible and compelling ways of presenting evaluation approaches to stakeholders who may not themselves be familiar with the role of an evaluation programme to inform and inspire business strategy.
- Lead the delivery of an evaluation framework that supports and informs the work of the BFI, in particular the strategic objectives laid out in Screen Culture 2033
- To work closely with the BFI Research Manager in ensuring that the BFI maintains a coherent programme of evaluation and research, particularly in relation to audience monitoring and initiatives such as the BFI’s Diversity Standards.
We are looking for candidates who have:
- Demonstrable experience of managing high quality research and evaluation projects from inception to delivery of results.
- Excellent communication, presentation and inter-personal skills with the ability to advocate the use of research and evaluation to those who are not necessarily research literate themselves and to clearly explain the benefits of high quality evidence to inform business thinking.
- Knowledge and experience of commissioning and managing policy focused evaluation in a working environment and of managing and quality assuring the work of external suppliers.
- Knowledge of the UK film industry, film culture or the creative industries as a whole.
