Screen Officer - Audience Development

Creative Scotland is recruiting for a Screen Officer – Audience Development to support Screen Scotland’s work in this area and to join its dedicated team who are focussed on supporting the screen sector in Scotland.

In this new role, you will work with the Head of Audience Development in extending the depth, breadth and reach of Scottish TV and film locally, nationally and internationally. The post holder will help to develop new and diverse audiences and support culturally driven projects, increasing access to the diversity of Scotland’s film and TV offer, through broadcast, exhibition, distribution, festivals and streaming platforms.

The role will support Scottish productions to reach their widest potential audience within Scotland, across the UK and internationally. The role will involve providing advice, guidance and support to individuals and organisations across the sector. In addition, the postholder will be required to assess and make recommendations on funding applications and coordinate (or lead where appropriate) relevant activities, programmes and projects. The post-holder will work with key external partner organisations, including Screen Scotland funded partners such as Regional Screen Scotland and Film Hub Scotland, national organisations including the BFI and BFI Film Audience Network and the rich network of Scottish, UK and international festivals, exhibitors, distributors, platforms and broadcasters to support Scottish work.

Our ideal candidate will have an in-depth knowledge and experience of the Screen sector and/or related creative policy areas (e.g. education, disability, cultural diversity and equalities, audience development/marketing, creative industries, etc) in Scotland, the UK and internationally, and experience in film and/or TV audience development, distribution, exhibition, broadcast or festival programming.
