The British Film Institute are seeking a Screen Heritage Fund Manager to manage applications to, grants made from and development of, the Screen Heritage Fund.

The BFI’s Screen Heritage Fund will fund eligible organisations which hold significant screen heritage collections to widen access, develop skills and build resistance. We are seeking a Screen Heritage Fund Manager to manage applications to, grants made from and development of, the Screen Heritage Fund. This also includes application enquiries, assessments, decisions and development support. The Fund Manager will also support the implementation of BFI strategic initiatives in relation to UK wide screen heritage development and to support the screen heritage sector with advice, knowledge and information.

Key responsibilities include:

  • To work alongside the Executive Director of Knowledge and Collections (as Fund Head) and the BFI Operations, Partners and Projects (OPPs) team to take lead responsibility for the effective management and delivery of the BFI Screen Heritage Fund, including management of applications from organisations representing the Significant Screen Heritage collections.
  • To contribute to the wider sector in support of UK wide screen heritage development, including developing and reviewing guidelines, promoting the Fund, advising applicants, and working with the OPPs team to monitor performance.
  • To work with the BFI Lottery team and Exec Director of Knowledge and Collections to review and develop funding schemes and projects in support of BFI objectives, as required, presenting updates to the Awards Committee when requested.
  • To assess applications, working with internal colleagues and external reviewers, and present funding proposals to the Lottery Finance Committee.

We are looking for candidates who have:

  • Substantial direct sector relevant experience.
  • Demonstrable success in relationship management in a similar role.
  • Demonstrable knowledge of the workings of the UK film industry.
  • An applied demonstrable commitment to the principles of diversity and inclusion, and environmental sustainability which underpin the BFI strategy.
  • Excellent understanding of the challenges facing audiences for access to screen heritage.
