Norden Farm Centre for the Arts is seeking a Sales and Marketing Officer to join the team, delivering marketing activity to promote sales of live events, film, classes, hires and the Café Bar.

The role will work across all areas of marketing communications – including copywriting, social media, PR and email marketing campaigns.

Role responsibilities

Marketing

  • To oversee and maintain the Norden Farm website including loading copy, images, reviews, links, custom pages and news articles – updating as required
  • To maintain and update Norden Farm’s social media platforms including drafting and scheduling content, continuing to develop the venue’s online presence
  • Set up and monitor social media advertising campaigns in Meta Ads Manager
  • To write copy for the website, email campaigns, direct mails, and write weekly press releases
  • To deliver data driven campaigns (using Spektrix CRM system), updating and segmenting customer lists to optimise targeting
  • To supervise the Marketing Assistant, including proofing content as required
  • To co-ordinate physical print including liaison with designers and printers, including on the monthly What’s On listings posters
  • PR liaison with local and national press, local influencers and community contacts
  • To execute a programme of email campaigns using DotDigital. Including updates to Norden Farm members and event round ups to subscribers
  • To co-ordinate a distribution and publicity programme, including developing distribution lists for publicity and printed material, researching / reaching out to target groups and compiling season listings documents
  • To design in-house assets as required using Canva and Affinity
  • Setting up offers using Spektrix CRM system
  • To research and participate in town centre PR activities including roadshows, Christmas Light Switch On and other ad hoc events. (please note this includes evenings and weekends)
  • To co-ordinate and oversee marketing Volunteers

General

  • To share responsibility in the day to day running of the office including answering the telephone, taking messages and dealing with enquiries.
  • Carry out their duties with due regard to the Norden Farm Centre Trust Ltd Policies
  • To undertake any other marketing activities as may be required by the Head of Marketing.
Person specification

Essential

Candidates must be able to demonstrate:

  • A minimum of two years marketing experience
  • Experience of using Spektrix or similar arts marketing software / CRM system
  • A good level of computer literacy (although training on specific software programmes can be arranged)
  • Ability to problem solve and think laterally
  • Good organisational skills and ability to prioritise and meet deadlines
  • Creative writing ability
  • Attention to detail
  • Experience of using social media
  • A genuine passion for the arts
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with an eye for detail
  • Ability to present information effectively in documents and displays
  • Ability to work unsupervised and as part of a team
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Enthusiasm and drive to improve skills and experience

Desirable

  • Design experience
  • Willingness to develop creative, innovative ideas utilising new media for distribution
  • Experience of using Canva or Affinity
  • Experience of supervising team members
  • Knowledge of current arts scene
  • Full driving licence and own means of transport
