Programme and Engagement Producer

Salary: £30,000 pro rata

Shubbak, the UK’s largest festival of contemporary Arab culture, is recruiting a Programme and Engagement Producer to produce projects leading up to and including the 2019 Festival.

The Programme and Engagement Producer will focus on two interlinked areas of Shubbak’s work:

• To produce projects across the artistic programme, including those which focus on access, participation, engagement and local community liaison.
• To nurture existing, and develop new relationships with local Arab communities and develop engagement by them as audiences, participants and collaborators.

This post will sit at the heart of the organisation, working across multiple projects as our work expands. This role requires excellent organisational and administrative skills, and previous experience as a producer is required.

Shubbak is entering a crucial and exciting period of organisational growth following the successful delivery of the 2017 festival and new NPO status from Arts Council England. The role of Programme and Engagement producer is a dynamic role within the organisation, and as such amendments may be made to reflect changing and evolving needs of the organisation. During peak project periods, it may also be necessary for you to take over some duties normally performed by colleagues. Any such alternative work will be suitable and appropriate to your skills. The majority of work will take place between Mon – Fri, 9am – 6pm, but this job also requires occasional availability for work at weekend, evenings and unsocial hours.
