Salary: £37,374 - £44,163

The BFI is seeking a Paper Conservator to be part of our Heritage 2022 programme, working exclusively at the BFI National Archive.

Fixed term contract until 31 March 2022

Key responsibilities
  • Advising on materials, procedures and work flows in the delivery of a cohesive and effective paper conservation programme as part of Heritage 2022.
  • Improving the overall condition of the paper collections through assessments and monitoring, and prioritising works for treatment.
  • Carrying out interventive paper conservation treatments of works on paper from the Special Collections, in the conservation studio.
About you
  • An MA degree or equivalent experience in the conservation of works on paper.
  • Accreditation in the conservation of works on paper.
  • Proven experience in the conservation of works on paper within a gallery, library, archive or museum setting.

The role is predominantly based at Berkhamsted, however, in response to the current Covid-19 pandemic all team members are currently working remotely from home until the foreseeable future.
