The BFI is looking for Venue Coordinators to join their team for the 2024 BFI London Film Festival (LFF).

We are looking for Venue Coordinators to act as the central point of contact on-site for all filmmaker/programme related Festival activity for BFI staff and partner cinema management and to support the smooth rehearsal and delivery of cinema, guest hospitality and transport, promptly reporting any operational or Front of House issues to LFF management or the partner venue, as appropriate.

BFI London Film Festival (LFF) runs an Industry & Professional Programme of screenings, events, networking and informal marketplace for around 3,500 film industry professionals alongside the main public festival.

Fixed Term Contract: 7 October 2024 – 20 October 2024

Key responsibilities include:

  • To act as the central point of contact on-site for all filmmaker/programme related Festival activity for BFI staff and partner cinema management.
  • To support the smooth rehearsal and delivery of cinema, guest hospitality and transport, promptly reporting any operational or Front of House issues to LFF management or the partner venue, as appropriate.
  • To work closely with the venue to ensure that collectively, the experience of our visiting guests and audiences is maximised.
  • Working alongside the Venue Coordinator (Ticketing) and the VSA, to be the face of the Festival at your assigned LFF partner venue for Festival guests, filmmakers and hosts of the Q&As, and also the cinema manager and staff.

We are looking for candidates who have:

  • Demonstrable and significant previous administrative experience gained within a cultural organisation in a similar role.
  • Demonstrable experience of working on a film festival, in a cinema or gallery space, or venue with supervisory responsibilities.
  • Technical experience of operating live microphones and technical equipment. Working knowledge of modern film formats and possible technical issues during delivery and projection.
  • Ability to build effective relationships with key contacts across BFI and stakeholder organisations, and to communicate effectively and tactfully with stakeholders at all levels.
