The BFI is seeking a Guest Transport & Logistics Manager to join its Festivals team for the 66th BFI London Film Festival.
The Guest Transport and Logistics team are responsible for the coordination and delivery of festival goods to key venues.
The BFI London Film Festival is the UK’s leading film event and one of the world’s major film festivals, attracting significant international industry participation. It’s also one of the BFI’s major cultural activities in the year introducing the finest global cinema to expanding London and UK-wide audiences.
This is a full-time, Fixed Term Contract position from 12 September – 04 November 2022.
Key responsibilities
- Manage a busy team tasked with facilitating a first-class ground transport service for Festival filmmakers, VIP guests, staff and Festival deliveries.
- Work closely with the Festival Producer, Festival Production Manager, Guest Services Team, driver agency and taxi providers to ensure a welcoming, well-organised and timely transport experience between a range of London locations.
- Responsible for developing and delivering an efficient and sustainable ground transport strategy that effectively negotiates geographical and resource constraints without compromising service standards.
Experience & skills
- Experience working in a similar Festival Guest Services, Hospitality environment or event logistics role
- Demonstrable skills in staff management, supervision and development
- Experience of managing a budget, reconciling costs and financial reporting
- Experience of effectively negotiating with colleagues and partners on costs and in-kind resources
- Interest in international film culture and detailed knowledge of the UK film distribution and international sales sectors.
