LFF Content Technician (Delivery)

The BFI is looking for an LFF Content Technician to join their team on a fixed-term contract.

The LFF Content Technician plays an important role in the LFF Content Team, working with the Southbank Content Technician to support the receipt, distribution and return of film, digital cinema and video content during the London Film Festival.

The roles require experience working with file delivery platforms, file systems, and the ability to keep track of competing priorities in a fast-moving festival environment.

Fixed Term Contract: 28 August – 23 October 2024

Key responsibilities include:

  • To assist the Content Team in the receipt, logging and delivery of all LFF film, digital cinema and video content for LFF screenings across all venues and online platforms.
  • To ensure that all Digital Cinema Packages (DCP), film prints, and video content received are correct as advertised in the LFF brochure and are accurately logged for delivery.
  • To Quality Control (QC) video screening files on arrival, reporting issues promptly to Content and Projection Team colleagues.
  • To work closely with the LFF Screenings Coordination Team, the LFF Content Administrator and the LFF DCP Technicians across all LFF content delivery.
  • To work closely with the BFI Player and LFF Press and Industry teams to ensure timely and accurate file delivery for LFF Online platforms.

We are looking for candidates who have:

  • Good working knowledge and experience of digital cinema, digital library and video projection systems.
  • Knowledge of database management useful, especially Artifax.
  • Good working knowledge of file delivery platforms with some experience of file systems desirable.
  • Demonstrated ability to liaise effectively with other departments, with BFI clients/partners, and colleagues.
  • Good organisational skills with the ability to prioritise and to manage and meet deadlines.
