Salary: £26,900 – £28,000 per annum

The Institut Français is seeking a new Head of Programming and Exhibition to conceive the film and events programme for the Ciné Lumière.

Role

To conceive the whole film and events programme for the Ciné Lumière (and a second screen from April 2019) and to be managing the logistical, administrative and financial aspects in collaboration with the Technical and Administrative departments.

Main duties

  • To define and implement the Ciné Lumière’s (225 seats) programming: including new releases, heritage cinema, curated seasons, young audiences and cross arts programmes in collaboration with the other services of the Institut Français du Royaume Uni
  • To develop and deliver screenings for target audiences
  • To provide regular events programming and supervise their progress
  • To deliver financial and audiences reporting
  • To follow up and develop relationships with UK and international film festivals, British and French institutions
  • To ensure that all contractual commitments relevant to programming are adhered to, e.g. print traffic, box office reports and invoices, right clearances and contracts
  • To programme a second screen from April – 35 seats
  • To develop relationships with UK and French producers and distributors

Team

Reporting to the Audiovisual Attaché and Deputy Director of the Institut Français, the candidate is responsible for the programming and the exhibition activity of the Ciné Lumière, will manage a full-time intern and work in collaboration with the Technical and Front of House teams.

Working hours

35 hours per week. Extra hours will be required to conduct certain projects on evenings and week ends.
