Freelance Project Manager, BFI FAN Places Fund

Film Hub Wales

Salary: £210 per day

Film Hub Wales is seeking an experienced project manager to deliver its BFI FAN Places Fund pilot programme.

The BFI FAN Places Fund is a pilot programme designed to increase public engagement with independent cinema venues, using National Lottery funding to help them become more visible and accessible to their local communities.

Film Hub Wales has been selected as one of three locations across the UK to undertake this innovative marketing-led initiative and is looking for an experienced project manager to lead on the delivery of the project, in partnership with three venues (Gwyn Hall, Taliesin Arts Centre and Awen Cultural Trust).

The Project Manager will develop creative marketing strategies, ensuring that the aims and objectives of the proposed activities are achieved.

The ideal candidate

We’re looking for an experienced and enthusiastic project manager, with a background in marketing. You will be a self-motivated person and a strategic thinker, able to identify challenges and opportunities and come up with practical and creative marketing ideas.

The successful candidate will care about the preservation of independent cinema spaces for future generations. This is not a project about making films, but about championing the venues that screen them, and your experience should reflect this.

We are ideally looking for someone who has worked with cinemas, multi-arts centres or festivals to deliver marketing-centred audience projects. Your project management experience must include all stages of project development and delivery, from ideas stage to delivery and final reporting.

You must be able to listen to, respect and respond to the needs of our partners and the communities they work with.

Working with a small team, you must be comfortable managing your time remotely. Support is available from Film Hub Wales but you should have confidence in your own ability to solve problems and organise your workload.

  • Fee: £210 per day (the Manager will be responsible for their own payments of Tax and NI)
