Salary: £27,000 - £30,000

QUAD is seeking an experienced Finance professional to manage the Finance Department for an arts-based charity, cinema, gallery and café bar in the heart of Derby.

As Finance Manager you will report to the CEO and Board of Trustees, your main responsibility will include maintaining the charity’s financial reports and monitoring / reporting on trading activities.

Hours: Full-time

Some of your operational responsibilities will include:
  •  Preparation of consolidated quarterly accounts to trial balance for charity and trading company
  • Management of the Finance Team (Finance Officer & Finance Assistant)
  • Responsibility for the day-to-day transactions of the business
  • Preparation of financial elements of funding applications and subsequent reporting of actuals to budget
  • Monitoring of income and expenditure for grant funded projects and capex purchases
  • Controlling deferred income, prepayments and accruals, ensuring income/expenditure is reported in correct periods
  • Reconciliation of bank accounts
  • Submission of weekly returns to film distributors
  • Completion of statutory returns
  • Producing ad hoc financial analyses and information as required
  • Overseeing the purchase order system with managers
  • Preparing documents for Arts Council England’s reporting requirements
  • Support production of annual budgets and forecasts
  • Payroll payments
  • Management of annual audit and assisting accountants in preparation of certified accounts
About you

As Finance Manager ideally you will be an experienced part qualified accountant or an accountant qualified by experience.

You will need to have the following skills and experience:

  • Experience of charity accounting
  • Understanding of the arts environment
  • Significant experience in a similar role
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Excellent time management skills
  • People management skills
