Native Spirit Foundation is seeking Festival Volunteers (Comms & Marketing)
The 18th edition of Native Spirit Festival – the UK’s first annual festival specialising in Indigenous-produced cinema media and arts, with a focus on narrative sovereignty and languages – will take place in London from 11-19 October.
About the role
Native Spirit Foundation is seeking Marketing & Communication volunteers to join its small grassroots team working on social media, event management and campaigning in liaison with the Director and Arts PR Advisor. You will also be contributing towards the overall marketing strategy. Experience with Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, Mailchimp, Eventbrite, Canva and gdocs is required.
This role is for three hours work per week with an immediate start from September to 27 October. It is flexible and remote, pending completion of a new festival hub at Grays Inn Road in London.
Food and travel expenses (within zones 1-6) are covered during festival dates.
Ideal candidates are discreet individuals with personal and professional knowledge and awareness of Indigenous communities (artistic, cultural, social). Speakers of other, or Indigenous languages, including Welsh, Irish, Scottish or Manx are likely to relate to the revitalisation of languages impacted by colonisation and featured in many films.
The festival is a project of Native Spirit Foundation, founded in 2005 by a Mapuche activist filmmaker and leader, with one objective being to create video, radio and television “for the other culture to know us without losing our identities.”
