Sunrise Film Festival is seeking people who are enthusiastic and passionate about film to join their small and welcoming festival committee, which shapes and brings the magic to life.

Sunrise Film Festival, based in Lowestoft, Suffolk, UK, was founded in 2021 and is run voluntarily by passionate independent film enthusiasts and filmmakers to provide an important accessible platform for filmmakers like themselves every August.

We’re passionate about creating a platform for filmmakers who are yet to be discovered (or picked up by the bigger film festival circuit), whilst making film accessible and proudly showcasing independent film to new audiences across overlooked communities.

Since our inception, we’ve proudly screened over 600 indie films and presented 65 awards, and we’re a BFI Film Audience Network-backed and BIFA-qualifying festival for British Short Films. Our mission is to uplift undiscovered talent and bring fresh, diverse stories to the big screen and for our 5th edition, this has expanded to accepting music videos, feature films and VR.

If you’re enthusiastic and passionate about film and want to be part of our small but welcoming team, we’d love to have you join us as part of our festival committee that shapes and brings the magic to life.

Within all roles, you will be expected to attend regular catch-up committee meetings, alongside where possible being available over the festival in 2026 during 20-23 August.

Programming Assistant – Patch Johnson

Currently, we are recruiting for:
Programmers & Assistant Curators, 2-3 positions available
Marketing Assistant, 1 position available
