The Stag, Sevenoaks, is looking for an Events Marketing Officer to join their team.
About The Stag
The Stag Community Arts Centre is a registered charity and although it has big ambitions it needs to work within limited resources. The venue is run by a core team of staff and assisted by approximately 100 volunteers.
About the role
The Events Marketing Officer is the main operational marketing officer for The Stag, working with people and teams internally and hirer companies externally to promote events and develop and drive targeted promotions that deliver to time and budget and providing an income to The Stag.
In conjunction with the Chief Executive and the Planning Events Manager the Events Marketing Officer will manage and develop:
- The Stag’s customer database
- audience development
- consistent brand and identity use internally and externally
- brand development
Duties
- Monitor and control the budget and proactively produce analysis reports that inform on marketing activity.
- In conjunction with the Chief Executive create and maintain an advertising and publicity schedule within budget to reflect and promote events at The Stag.
- Develop and maintain strong links with local press, radio and TV, place news releases and articles and where possible arrange reciprocal publicity opportunities.
- In conjunction with the Chief Executive write and issue press releases and other news stories through all available print, broadcast and social media.
- Develop and provide marketing services to promoters providing income for The Stag.
- Develop and use customer databases for promotional and mailing lists.
- Coordinate and arrange for printing and delivery of the Stag’s What’s On Guide providing information for current and potential customers.
- To work with the Volunteer Coordinator to distribute What’s On and other flyer, poster and marketing materials to the widest possible audience (shops, hotels, libraries, schools, old people’s homes, parish magazines etc.) throughout the area.
- Write and design marketing material (liaising with suppliers, designers etc. as required) and maintain records and a library of material.
- Provide regular information for community publications and community groups throughout the district (for example but not exclusively local businesses, Sevenoaks Town Council, Sevenoaks District Council, U3A, Lions, Round Table, Sevenoaks Mums etc.).
- Monitor and maintain the Stag’s website and any other collaborative links ensuring they are always accurate and up to date.
- Manage poster, adscreen and flyer displays throughout the venue and outside to ensure publicity is maintained for all events ensuring the prompt removal of all time-expired material.
- Produce marketing and sales analyses and trend reporting.
- Support wider team projects and events within the Stag as required.
- Ensure that corporate branding, the use of the Stag logo and brand usage is correctly maintained in internal documents and external use.
- In conjunction with the Chief Executive implement initiatives for audience development in all of the Stag businesses.
- To carry out such duties as the Chief Executive and Deputy Chief Executive may from time to time reasonably require.
Person specification
Required
- Strong and confident communicator both verbally and in writing, calm under pressure with an aptitude for patience and detail.
- Confidence in working with and researching by telephone and via the internet.
- Excellent use of English for copy writing.
- Ability to work without supervision and absolutely to tight deadlines.
- Excellent administrative and IT skills (MS-Office – particularly graphics manipulation, MS-Publisher and MS-Excel).
- Full driving licence
Desired
- Experience of Adobe InDesign and/or Photoshop
