Duty Manager

Salary: £10.99 per hour

Phoenix Cinema in East Finchley is the oldest continuously running and one of the best loved community cinemas in the UK. We are a registered charity. We are seeking an experienced Duty Manager, to lead the FOH team and ensure the delivery of excellent customer service.

The role

The Duty Manager will be responsible for Front of House for screenings, looking after our audiences, supervising staff members and ensuring the smooth running of the cinema managing the automated projection system. Previous experience of projection work is not necessary for the right candidate who is technically adept, keen to learn and calm under pressure.

Responsible for supporting the Operations Manager in the day-to-day management of the cinema, the Duty Manager will also assign the weekly staff rota, oversee bar and retail sales, weekly ordering and the monthly stocktake.

Supporting the cinema Programme and Learning Director with social media, and engagement work (film club, podcasts, community programming group), is also an essential part of the role.

The right candidate will be able to demonstrate leadership and confidence in a customer facing role and calmness under pressure.

Experience of working and managing a team in an arts or a hospitality venue is preferable and evening and weekend work is required. Covers for FOH roles will also be required at a different hourly rate.
