Salary: £28,000 - £30,000

The Chiswick Cinema is looking for a new Duty Manager – managing the team for success, driving sales and standards, and troubleshooting when required to ensure a smooth cinema running.

The postholder will have strong communication with the FOH team, drive retail and membership sales, look for ways to increase admissions from members and non-members, assist with and promote events other activities, and ensure the customer journey is at the forefront of their day to day.

The postholder also has responsibility for improving staff wellbeing, cascading information clearly and concisely and push for improvements in the operations of the site by proactively looking for solutions to keep driving the business forward.

Role details:
  • 40hrs per week (including some weekend/evening work)

Role responsibilities

Main Duties:

Ensure you are present on shift on the front-line providing assistance and leading and coaching the team
Support the senior management team in hitting our business strategy targets.

Undertake management opening and closing duties as required.
Create and drive your own development opportunities.
Champion a key operational area as discussed with senior management.

Operational excellence:

Mitigating incidents by ensuring the health and safety measures are implemented
Maintaining the highest operational standards.
Understand and support back of house operations to deliver business objectives.
Ensure all business compliance is met.

Customer focus:

Ensure there is a customer focused environment within the customer service team. Coach lead and develop the team with this in mind.
Monitor all customer feedback and communicate it to the wider management team.
Create awareness of film product, food and beverage offerings within the cinema.
Lead the team to ensure the customer service across all areas of Chiswick are to the highest standard.

People focus:

Support with the recruitment process and lead the induction of new staff.
Effective organisation of resources to drive and deliver the highest operational standards for the cinema.
Assist in delivering Team meetings.

Finance:

Maximising all revenue opportunities through effective management i.e., food and beverage, memberships
Managing risk by ensuring damages wastages are processed correctly and helping with stock counts and the correct way of storing stock is adhered to on a first in, first out, basis.

Role requirements:

You’ll be a capable communicator, with prior experience in managing people, preferably in a cinema environment.

Professional, enthusiastic and energetic you’ll take a proactive and results-driven and creative approach to your work with an ability to turn your hand to the different aspects of what is a multi-faceted position.

You’ll be resilient, engaging and a strong communicator at all levels (whether dealing with FOH team, film creatives, cinema members, senior managers or sponsorship contacts).

A real passion for and a significant interest in film is a pre-requisite, as is an outgoing and engaging approach to your work.
