The Board of Irish Film London are seeking a new London-based board member responsible for Sponsorship & Fundraising.

Bringing expertise and enthusiasm to this unique and creative role, they will strive to secure sponsorship from corporate, SMEs and individual donors to sustain and expand the delivery of IFL’s dynamic programme. Working with the Head of IFL and the rest of the IFL Board they will also contribute to IFL’s strategy planning and implementation during this dynamic period in Irish Film London’s history. This is a voluntary role that requires approximately 16 hours per month. Irish Film London Ltd is a private company limited by guarantee without share capital.

The work of the IFL Board is instrumental in the promotion of Irish Film culture in London. There are currently five board members of IFL supporting two employees. Each board member brings expertise, enthusiasm and commitment to their role, supporting the Head of IFL and IFL Co-ordinator to deliver a successful programme.

Irish Film London provides a dedicated gateway for all to celebrate, experience and promote the best of contemporary Irish Cinema and Screen Talent. Annually IFL presents the world’s largest Irish Film Festival. Currently Irish Film London is hosting it’s film festivals online and later this year will move to a hybrid format of live cinema screenings London together with online offerings. IFL has many prominent patrons who have A star film industry credentials: Saoirse Ronan, Lenny Abrahamson, Mo Dunford, Colin Farrell, Fiona Shaw and Ros Kavanagh.

Required Skills
  • Prior career experience in sponsorship procurement and fundraising activity roles
  • Excellent personal and presentational skills
  • Familiarity with current and emerging business networks and opportunities
  • Understanding the needs of corporate sponsorship partnerships
  • Experience dealing with special guests and prominent figures
Responsibilities as Director of Sponsorship & Fundraising
  • Be the Sponsorship spokesperson for IFL
  • Work with the Head of IFL and the IFL Board to secure sponsorship from corporate, SMEs and individual donors to sustain and expand the delivery of our programme.
  • Provide structure and guidance on sponsorship sourcing, sponsorship decks, sponsorship contracts and the maintenance of relationships with sponsors
  • Working with the Director of Communications on IFL requirements and brand alignment
Responsibilities as IFL Board Member
  • Contribute to IFL’s strategy and the monitoring of IFL’s delivery of that strategy
  • Participating in monthly board meetings, presenting short reports/documentation and attending events
  • Contribute to the continuity of IFL’s high standards of governance
  • Being an active ambassador for the festival in engagements with funders, sponsors, members, filmmakers, cinemas and audiences
