Cork International Film Festival is seeking to recruit a dynamic, experienced, and highly motivated professional who is passionate about film, to fulfil a new full-time three-year contract role as Director of Programming, commencing April 2024.

This role offers a unique opportunity to help shape the future of Ireland’s premiere film festival, celebrating its 70th edition in 2025, and influence film culture in Ireland through its demonstrable impact.

Overview of role

Our new Director of Programming will play a significant role in developing and delivering Cork International Film Festival’s artistic policy and programming ambitions, contributing to the ongoing strategic development of the Festival. The Director of Programming will work closely with the Festival Director & CEO, manage the Programming Team, and support the Marketing, Development, and Festival Delivery Teams as required.

The Festival prides itself on maintaining a tight-knit and supportive working environment. The Director of Programming’s primary responsibilities are to programme the annual Festival, develop year-round activity, support Festival delivery in line with CIFF’s ethos, strategy and objectives, and contribute to the Festival’s development plan in consultation with the Festival Director and Board.

Key information
  • The salary scale for this role is €50,000 – €60,000
  • The contract is offered on a three-year fixed term basis from April 2024, with an option to extend, initially with a six-month probation period
  • CIFF is based in Cork City with flexibility for hybrid/home working. National and international film festival travel is expected as part of this role
  • The annual leave entitlement is 20 days plus public holidays
  • Normal working hours will be 9:30am – 5:30pm with flexibility required for events, travel
  • Non-contributory PRSA (contributory from 2024)
  • Access to Festival tickets, and cinema tickets
  • Further training opportunities
